Commonweath envoy assists Tongan Parliament [1]

The Rt. Hon. Sir Douglas Graham, the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth Secretariat for the Pacific islands, and Albert Mariner, the Chief Political Officer at the Commonwealth Secretariat arrived in Tonga on Wednesday June 9 for a four-day visit.
Sir Douglas said that they were in Tonga to follow up a program, which he had launched assisting the Tongan Parliament by providing support and appropriate resources to improve efficiency in the operations of the House. He said that as part of the program they had provided computers enabling members to access the internet and parliamentary libraries overseas.
Also accompanying Sir Douglas was David McGee QC, a clerk of the New Zealand Parliament in Wellington and an expert in parliamentary issues. David had also brought to Tonga tons of books for the Tongan parliament.
