The annual roll call for women members of the Free Church of Tonga and the Chiefly Church of Tonga brought hundreds of women, all dress in white to Nuku'alofa yesterday, September 26.
The occasion known in Tongan as the Faka-Sepitema, is considered as the reaffirming of one's membership of the church and an acceptance of a personal call from God. This annual event brought women from all over Tongatapu to Nuku'alofa to answer their calls.
Peta ...Akau...ola one of the women who answered her call at the Free Church of Tonga, described the event as being significant "because we are answering God's call."
The Faka-Sepitema is a tradition for the women of Free Church of Tonga, the Chiefly Church of Tonga, and the Free Wesleyan Church of Tonga. The women of the Free Wesleyan Church of Tonga will have their roll call next week.
