Tonga High School parade celebrates 60th year [1]

Hundreds of Tonga High School students and ex-students celebrated the 60th anniversary of their school by parading through central Nuku'alofa this morning.
The parade was lead by the school brass band followed by the first students of Tonga High School, the Class of 1947, which was represented by four of the remaining ex-students, including Tuna Fielakepa.
The colourful parade, which included students from all the years from 1947 to 2006, concluded their march at the Royal Tombs, Mala'ekula and paid tribute to the founder of the school, His Late Majesty King Taufa'ahau Tupou IV.
A wreath laying ceremony was held at the Royal Tombs organised by the Class of 1974.
The celebration will continue tomorrow July 28, with a special presentation at HM King George V's residence, followed by a Grand Ball at the Queen Salote Memorial Hall in the evening.
On July 28 the celebration will be held on a day out at Liku'alofa Beach Resort before concluding on July 29 with a Royal Luncheon at the Queen Salote Memorial Hall.
During the parade students from other high schools in Tongatapu also joined the students of Tonga High School, their tribute to THS's 60th anniversary celebration.
