China sends teachers to Tonga [1]

On April 10 the Chinese Ambassador H.E. Mr. Hu Yeshun and Hon. Dr. Tevita Hala Palefau, Tonga's Minister of Education, Women's Affairs and Culture renewed the Agreement between the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Education of The Kingdom of Tonga on China's Dispatching Two Teachers to Tonga, which will take effect as from the date of signature and remain effective for two years.
Under this agreement, the Chinese side will continue to dispatch two teachers to Tonga, one Chinese language teacher to Tonga High School and one agricultural teacher to Tonga College.
China always attaches great importance to the educational and cultural exchanges with Tonga. The two sides signed the agreement first in 2002, which was renewed in 2005. China began to dispatch teachers to Tonga in 2003 and now there are two Chinese teachers working in Tonga.
In the year 2007-08, China continues to provide 18 scholarships to the Kingdom of Tonga, which will greatly promote the bilateral educational exchanges and understanding between the two peoples. Chinese Embassy, 11/04/07.
