Editor,
In response to Ofa-ki-Tonga, I believe you are letting your emotions cloud your judgment by the tone of your letter (Ái Ha 'Uhinga Ke Mamafa mo Masila) and what I wrote is my right to freedom of opinion and you should know that since you live in the 'land of freedom' or whatever part of America you deprive from.
When was the last time you were in Tonga to witness the state of our country in terms of development? It appears that our neigbours are moving onto fourth gear whilst we are still on first gear for obvious reasons. I know this Ófa-Ki- Tonga, as since relocating to Australia in 1992 I have returned to our beloved country every year and apart from some minor changes the status of Nuku'alofa is still the same since 1992.
I put to you Ófa-Ki-Tonga to save some money from shopping in those fancy malls in Tahi Loloa, Kalifonia and book a ticket to our motherland and see for yourself. Try also getting on one of those World War I over expired Peau Vavau Airlines planes and you will be shaken all the way to Ha'apai to see what I mean about the airstrip. I know this Ófa-Ki-Tonga because I have just returned to Australia after visiting Kolofo'ou and Tungua.
My advise to you Ófa-Ki-Tonga: cease letting your emotions get to you and stop judging other people and put in your views that would benefit our country, although it may fall on deaf ears but at least we've raised issues pertaining to the well-being of Tonga- to us Mate Ma'a Tongans and the world.
