Primary students present traditional dances [1]

Traditional dances were performed by young students from various Government Primary Schools in the Nuku'alofa District on November 22, to promote and preserve Tonga's traditional dances.
The annual cultural program, which began in 2014, is organized by the Ministry of Education and Training for all government primary schools to encourage, promote and preserve our traditional dances by teaching it to the young students, said a spokesperson from the Ministry today.
Dances that were performed today included Lakalaka.
The program started on Tuesday, November 21 with around 15 primary schools from throughout the Western District performing at GPS Houma.
It ends on November 23 with dances by around 21 primary schools from the Eastern District of Tongatapu, to be held at ‘Atele.
