Increasing theft of kava plants in Vava’u [1]

More kava plants were reported to have been stolen from a plantation in Neiafu over the weekend.
22 kava plants valued at $6,600 pa’anga were alleged to have been uprooted and stolen, on October 14, after police received the complaint from the 66-year-old owner in Neiafu.
Previously, on October 9, 195 kava plants worth $19,500 pa’anga were stolen from a plantation at Vaimalo on the island.
Investigation still continues.
