New classroom for Tonga College Tech Course [1]

A new classroom building for Tonga College Technical Course was handed over on October 3 from the Government of Japan.
Funded with USD74,247 under Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects, the building has four classrooms for automotive, carpentry, welding, plumbing, electrical and horticulture.
Japan’s Ambassador HE Yukio Numata said one of their priority sectors was is ensuring that youth have access to quality education and training.
He said Tonga College and its PTA had placed a lot of effort in the technical course to widen the student’s future options and opportunities. However, the course lacked classrooms.
"I am happy that we were able to take part in enhancing the quality of learning the technical course offers."
Hon. Penisimani Fifita, Minister for Education and Training thanked Japan for its ongoing assistance for education.
“The new classroom will help the school in enabling the students to take up studies that are relevant to their needs and interests, as well as opening up new and alternative opportunities for their futures.”
