Australian qualification training for vocational teachers [1]

Twenty teachers and trainers working in vocational education in Tonga are undergoing an Australian recognized Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, launched on September 25.
Australian High Commissioner HE Mr Andrew Ford said students include teachers and trainers from eight of the largest government and church training organizations such as Tonga Institute of Higher Education (TIHE), Queen Salote Institute of Nursing and ‘Ahopanilolo Technical Institute.
There are also students from the Tonga Business Enterprise Centre (TBEC),Tonga Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship (TYEE) and Tonga Skills.
“Graduates will receive an internationally recognized Australian qualification through TAFE Queensland.”
He said graduates will be able to use their skills to design, deliver and assess training in workplaces and in flexible modes at international standards.
“I encourage you to make the most of this valuable opportunity and take these skills back and share with your colleagues and managers.”
Tonga Skills
Tonga Skills stated this certificate is highly regarded as a benchmark international qualification for teachers and trainers working in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.
The training is delivered by Australia's Pacific Technical College trainer David Dickens to run for six-weeks between this month and January, 2018.
"Tonga Skills worked closely with APTC and the Tonga Association of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TATVET) to select the 20 participants from existing TNQAB registered training organizations as well as new training providers in Tonga."
