106 cannabis plants seized in ‘Eua [1]

Three people have been arrested and charged in relation to the cultivation of 106 cannabis plants seized at two different plantations in 'Eua on Monday, September 18.
Inspector Loluhama Fine, ‘Eua District Commander said they received the information at around 1:00pm, that cannabis plants were cultivated in this area.
A 12 gauge shotgun was also seized.
Meanwhile, a 35-year-old man from Angaha is charged with cultivation of the illicit drugs and possession of the unlicensed firearm.
A couple from Futu both 39-years-old were also arrested and charged with the cultivation of illicit drugs. All the accused remain in custody until Friday, September 22.
“We would like to acknowledge the assistance of members of the public which led to the drug seizures yesterday. It only takes one call to disrupt the supply of drugs in your community and we encourage anyone who can provide information of drug dealing to contact Police,” the Tonga Police stated, adding that nyone with information can contact police on on 922, 23-417 or 25-147.
