New broadband system for Tonga [1]

A new Canopy Wireless Broadband System will be launched in Tonga, on July 7, Mark Schmid, the new manager of Tonfön Communications announced on Thursday June 15 during a Business Solution event hosted by Tonfön at the Waterfront Cafe.
The Canopy Wireless Broadband System from Motorola will offer two broad categories of services for homes and businesses. The speed of the services offer range from 64 kbps and 512 kbps, and with a range of the monthly connection fees.
The new Tonfön Wireless Broadband will be available only to subscribers in Tongatapu and nearby holiday island resorts, and is a step up from their existing service.
Tonfön's announcement came three weeks after their competitor, Tonga Communications Corporation launched their first wireless and land-line broadband on May 23.
