Tonga winless at U-19 OFC tournament [1]

The Tonga Under-19 Women’s Soccer team have finished at the bottom of the 2017 Oceania Football Confederation tournament after losing their final game to New Zealand (0 – 9) last Tuesday July 24, in Auckland.
Despite the result, the young Tongan team has been commended for it's development efforts, with most players aged 16 - 18. Tonga had the youngest player in the tournament, 15-year-old Nipa Talasinga.
Team Tonga were winless in the competition but managed one draw against Samoa (1 – 1). In their other matches Tonga were defeated by Fiji (0 – 4), Papua New Guinea (1 – 4) and New Caledonia (1 – 3).
Altogether, the girls scored a total of 3 goals in the tournament. Two were scored by Mele Kafa and one by Seini Lutu.
