Amanaki Mafi awarded “best player” by Melbourne Rebels [1]

The Melbourne Rebels have honoured Amanaki Mafi with an award for best player for the season. The award was voted on by all members of the Melbourne Rebels team. The former Tonga College boy started playing for the Melbourne Rebels only this year.
According to Super Rugby statistics, the 27-year-old played every game for the Melbourne Rebels in the 2017 Super Rugby season. He was a leading runner in the Super Rugby competition (184 runs), gaining 1378 meters for his team and making 30 successful offloads.
The Tongan born Number 8 plays as an international representative for Japan and is widely considered to be one of the best backrowers in the world.
