An evening of choral praise featuring 14 choirs and hundreds of singers filled the Queen Sālote Memorial Hall to overflowing on Sunday evening for the annual One Tonga - Glorifying God in Song event.
This is the eighth time that Robina Nakao, CEO of FEXCO / Western Union Tonga, has hosted the event that never fails to bring together many different denominations and their congregations for a musical evening enjoyed by all ages.
The superbly-managed show ran like clockwork and presented a diverse range of musical talents from the mass choral groups of the Tokaikolo Youth and Seventh Day Adventists to the confident vocals of the sisters in the Crystal Singers and the strong soloists in the TTI choir. Elizabeth Baker with the Tu'atakilangi Youth presented a short drama, 'Ikuna 'a Sisu Kalaisi". The Fijian Community Choir was full of thankfulness. Toloa College Choir, joined by some talented musicians in a visiting group from Newington College in Australia, presented a medley from Haydn and Lovatt Cooper, with impressive schoolboy soloists.
Queen Nanasipau'u was the guest of honour.
