Students march for opening of Parliament [1]

Hundreds of Tongatapu secondary and tertiary school students led by lively and colourful brass bands marched through central Nuku'alofa on Thursday, June 1 to mark the opening of the Tonga Legislative Assembly's 2017-18 session.
On a bright sunny day, hundreds of people came out to line the streets in the central business district to watch the marching.
Students lining the streets to Parliament House, greeted King Tupou VI's motorcade.
After the opening ceremony, parliamentarians came out to watch the marching in front of Parliament House.
Parliament sits next week on Tuesday, June 6, following Monday's public holiday for Emancipation Day.
