Suspended Chief Superintendent in Court [1]

A suspended Chief Superintendent of Police appeared at the Magistrate’s Court on Monday, April 3 for charges relating to a car crash in November last year.
Tevita Fifita who was the Officer in Charge at the Central Police station was suspended from duty after reports that he crashed a police car into the entrance gate at the Queen Salote Wharf, early Saturday morning November 19, 2016.
A criminal investigation into the circumstances around the incident was carried out which resulted in the charges laid against him.
The Crown prosecution confirmed today, he has been charged with reckless driving, attempted interference with the course of justice and use of an unauthorized license plate.
He is expected to appear again at the lower court on 24 April.
