Six villages celebrate new water supply [1]

Ms Reiko Konosu is one Japanese name that the people in the villages of Nukuhetulu, 'Utulau, Hoi, Manuka, Lomaiviti and Puke will remember for a very long time.
Ms Reiko Konosu, the Second Secretary at the Japanese Embassy, Suva, visited Tonga during the second week of May to switch on the water supply systems to these six villages, bringing joy to the people of these villages who celebrated the occasions with feasting and dancing.
The Japanese Embassy said that the six water projects were financed under the Japan's Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP,) with a grant of $606,961 pa'anga.
One other project that was funded with a GGP grant of $153,369, and was officially opened by Reiko, was a two storey classroom building for Tupou High School's Vaololoa Campus.
The celebration of the official launching of the village water system started with the village of Nukuhetulu on Tuesday May 9 and concluded with the village of Puke on Thursday May 11.
