New German Ambassador visits Tonga [1]

The new German Ambassador to Tonga HE Mr Jorg Hans Zimmermann made his first official visit to the kingdom on May 1.
The German Ambassador presented his Credentials to the Prince Regent HRH Prince Tupouto...a on May 2 at the Royal Palace in Nuku...alofa.
During his five-day stay in Tonga he met the Tongan Prime Minister Hon. Dr Feleti Sevele, other Government Ministers, the Australian High Commissioner HE. Mr. Colin Hill and the New Zealand High Commissioner HE. Mr. Michael McBryde.
The German ambassador also visited some of the Small Scale projects that were funded under the German Small Scale Fund.
Mr Zimmermann joined the German Foreign Service in 1976 he was the Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy in Tokyo, Japan from 2002 until his new appointment.
The Ambassador who visited Tonga with his wife returned to Wellington, New Zealand on May 6, where he is based. He is also ambassador to New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa, Niue, Cook Islands, Tuvalu and Kiribati.
