More hot days ahead for Tonga [1]

There is more sweltering warm weather ahead, says Tonga’s Meteorology department (MET), with temperatures forecast to remain between 25C – 31C during the week with humidity between 80 - 90%, cloudy periods and possible isolated showers.
If you are heading to the beach to cool off, be aware of extreme high tides during the evenings this week.
During the past week, temperatures increased after a mild start to summer and MET says no cyclones are in sight.
This time last year the average maximum temperature recorded for the month of January was around 30C, with the hottest day recorded at 32.9C in Nuku’alofa.
Prior to Cyclone Winston appearing last year, Tonga had a heatwave in February, with temperatures reaching it’s hottest in recorded history at 35.5C at Niuafo’ou.
The Marine weather bulletin issued by MET warns of an extreme high tide this week for all Tonga coastal waters at the following local time:
