Junior Fa scored an impressive 3rd round knockout win over his Argentine opponent Pablo Magrini on Saturday night Dcember 10, in an undercard to the Parker vs Ruiz WBO championship event in Auckland.
Magrini had been elusive throughout the fight before Fa landed a devastating body shot which put Magrini on to the canvas in agony. Failing to stand-up, Fa was declared the winner by 3rd round knockout.
The win represents a good year for Fa who only made his pro-debut 10 months ago. Fa now yields a record of 9 wins, with 6 coming way by knockout.
Fa stated after the fight “I basically just took this fight just like another fight. I prepared well, sorted out a great game plan,”
“We basically came in with our game plan A, B, C, D. The first game plan wasn’t really working because he was shifting around too much, he was a bit shorter. So we switched into our B plan which was to just basically to get him to drifting one way, throw a hook and then basically chop back down with a left hook, that’s a specialty punch that my coaches are working on.”
Fa’s next fights are yet to be confirmed.
Uaine Fa Jnr (aka Junior Fa) is a New Zealand boxer of Tongan heritage.
