Murder fugitive apprehended in Pago Pago [1]

Tonga Police have confirmed late this afternoon that their escaped prisoner Dean Jay Fletcher had been located in Pago Pago, American Samoa this morning where he has been now apprehended.
"Fletcher has been arrested by local authorities and extradition proceedings have been commenced by Attorney General’s Office, Tonga and Attorney General’s Office, American Samoa and U.S. Department of Justice," said Tonga police Commissioner Steve Caldwell.
The Commissioner also said that he had sent a team of Senior Police Officers to Vava’u today to investigate the full circumstances of the escape of the prisoner on 29 September.
“I have obvious concerns over this matter and people will be held to account if accepted procedures have not been followed” he said today.
