Crown Prince opens Tongatapu Show 2016 [1]

Tongatapu’s two-day Royal Agricultural, Fisheries and Tonga Made Show 2016 was finally opened on Friday 26 August by Crown Prince Tupouto’a ‘Ulukalala, after being delayed twice due to bad weather.
Held at the Funga-Mana-Mo’ui Grounds in ‘Atele, the sun was shining at the annual event which featured an abundance of local produce from vegetables, food crops to fish, seafood and livestock.
Also on display were local products and services that included locally produced coffee, potato chips, virgin coconut oil, carvings, fine handicrafts and mats, happily displayed by women from various villages from throughout Tongatapu.
The Crown Prince accompanied by Crown Princess Sinaitakala Tuku’aho inspected the colourful display.
Outside the show grounds the road starting from Pea to 'Atele was line with fine mats as dancing women held their own displays as dancing women on the road side.
Prime Minister Hon ‘Akilisi Pohiva, government Ministers, parliamentarians and the public toured the tents to see and buy the local produce.
King Tupou VI has opened the shows in Niuatoputapu, Niuafo’ou, Vava’u, ‘Eua and Ha’apai earlier this year.
