Motu'apuaka of Te'ekiu passes away [1]

The King's Mātapule, Motu'apuaka of Te'ekiu, passed away at the weekend at the age of 68 years, in Las Vegas, USA, his family has confirmed.
His brother Soakai Motu'apuaka said the funeral will be held in Tonga, with the 'Apo on July 22 at the Free Wesleyan Church, Te'ekiu. The burial will be held at Faka'ulumafa, Te'ekiu on July 23.
'Inoke Tu'alau Motu'apuaka served three kings of Tonga, Taufa'ahau Tupou IV, George Tupou V and HM King Tupou VI. Motu'apuaka is most recently remembered for his resounding voice, calling titles at the Taumafa Kava ceremony for the investiture of the 24th Tu'i Kanokupolu in June 2015, at the start of the Coronation celebrations for King Tupou VI.
