Pro-golfer Tony Finau turned up to the front door of a young lady’s house in Texas last week offering flowers, chocolate, a get-well card and his apologies for accidently hitting her in the head with one of his golf balls.
Elisa Butler, was a spectator at last week’s PGA tour tournament in Fort Worth, Texas. During one of Tony Finau’s shots, the golf ball swerved and hit Elisa in the head causing her to bleed. She was later stitched up.
Finau told the Golf Channel, “After the incident, it was kind of hard to erase it from my mind just because of the image. She was bleeding from head to toe – it was hard for me to kind of regroup mentally. I felt like, ‘I hope I didn’t kill somebody'.”
Feeling guilty, Tony Finau drove out to her residence to apologise to her in person. Elisa Butler stated via Instagram “In a very stand up gesture, he showed up at my door step with flowers, chocolates, a get well soon card, and he stayed and talked with us for a bit.”
Utah-born, Tony (26), who turned pro at 17, is the first professional golf player of Tongan and Samoan descent invited to play in the PGA Tour.
