The qualification comes with the condition, that the female archer has to shoot 600 points and the male 630 points or more before July 11 this year.
The federation is now planning to send their archers to compete in World Archery competitions and fullfull this requirement before the set date and complete the condition for the Olympics.
"Our two best shooters in both categories will then be named and announced to represent Tonga at the Olympics."
At the same time, the Oceania Archery Championships also held in Nuku'alofa for the first time from April 11-15 had around 40 archers from Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Tahiti and Tonga competing. The championships was extended to include the Qualifying Tournament.
