The saying that when the going gets tough, the tough keep going, is very true with the Nuku‘alofa business community.
Despite a depressed economy, the continued decline in the value of the Tongan pa’anga, and an inflation rate that keeps rising, some business people are still investing heavily in the Tongan economy.
On December 5, the Crown Prince Tupouto‘a officially opened the $1 million Kupu House of the Pacific Finance and Investments Ltd. at Hala Fatafehi. The two-storey building will house offices on the top floor and the Office Equipment showroom on the ground floor.
Ross Chapman, the Chairman of Pacific Finance and Investments Ltd., said that Office Equipment would also be expanding its technical services such as their Kwik Printing.
The construction of the 700sq.m. new building, started in June by the Spirit Pacific Company.
Kupu House is named after the owner of the land, the late Kupu ‘o Vanua Tupou, a younger of Baron Vaea of Houma.
