Vava’u will now be easier to reach for international visitors with new weekly flights to the northern Tongan archipelago direct from Nadi, Fiji starting on 2 April 2016.
Fiji Airways is offering this new addition to its Pacific route providing easy connection for travellers, especially from North America who often travel to Tonga via Nadi.
Two new scheduled flights will depart Nadi on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 8:00am and return from Vava'u on the same days at 4:00pm.
Vava’u is 568 miles southeast of Nadi, Fiji and besides having a reputation as a "tropical paradise" and a haven for yachts, it is famous for being one of the few places on earth where you can swim with Humpback whales between June and November.
In a statement today Fiji Airways said that they have already opened bookings for the new air service.
