The Heilala Holiday Village in a natural setting at the village of Tofoa, on the outskirts of Nuku‘alofa, has completed expansions in time to cater for the Christmas and New Year.
The new Heilala Restaurant was opened by Dr. Masaso Paunga, the Minister responsible for Tourism, on November 17. He was assisted by Paul Karalus, the President of the Tonga Chamber of Commerce and Fonoti Taumoepeau, Miss Heilala 1999-2000.
The Heilala Village is owned and run by Maria Quick and her son Sven, from Germany. The restaurant, managed by Andre H. Grober from Bavaria will be open seven days a week including Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Andre said that the restaurant is open to everyone. "We will start with a nigh of 100 candlelights and will serve barbeque with seafood and Mexican dishes, and every night we will also offer a Honeymoon Dinner for two people at a special price which includes table wine," he said.
