The ‘Ikale Tahi squad to face Romania on Saturday, 5 August has been named by Head Coah Mana ‘Otai.
The match has a special significance to the team as they take the field in support of Sione Vaiomo’unga former ‘Ikale Tahi flanker and Romanian club, CSM Baia Marie player.
Vaiomo'unga was diagnosed with renal failure last year and is currently unable to leave Romania because he is unable to access dialysis in Tonga.
The head coach said this is a significant match because they could not ask for a better person to play this game for especially to dedicate the game to him given the talent and the unfortunate situation that he is in.
“He would have been in the team for the Rugby World Cup, I can assure you if it wasn't for his illness because that’s the player that he is and showed at the last World Cup.”
The match will be held at Stadionul National de Rugby Archu de Triumf in Bucharest on Saturday evening (local time).
