Police seek gun owner in Vava‘u death [1]

Tonolo Halahingano (32) has been named as the security guard who was found dead from a gunshot wound on 6 June at the Treasure Island Resort on ‘Eueiki Island, Vava’u.
Police in Nuku’alofa said that his funeral had been held after the inquest which had confirmed that he died from a gunshot wound to the head.
It remains a possible suicide case, but the police investigation continues. Police said that they are looking for the owner of the .38 revolver that was found with the deceased. Possession of a .38 revolver is restricted in Tonga.
Halahingano from Pangaimotu, Vava'u was working as a security guard at the island resort.
