Tonga will host the regional Pacific Island Telecommunications Association (PITA) 19th Annual General Meeting and Trade Show from 20-27 April 2015 at the Fa’onelua Convention Centre, Nuku’alofa.
This is the first time the event has been held in Tonga and will bring members from across the Pacific together with service and equipment vendors.
The event is hosted by Tonga Communications Corporation (TCC) and with the assistance of the Ministry of Meteorology, Energy, Information, Disaster Management, Environment, Climate Change and Communications (MEIDECC).
“We are so proud to be hosting the conference this year and are excited to show off all what PITA has to offer throughout the week,” said Rizvi Jurangpathy, CEO of TCC.
The events are expected to gather over 200 telecommunication specialists, experts and businesses from around the world. The participants come from a multitude of fields and from operators and vendors.
Rizvi said that the PITA AGMs have in the past generated a large interest. “The inclusion of the trade exhibition of new services and products, as well as the size of this five day event and the diversity, geographical and otherwise, of participants are noteworthy,” he said.
