All striking teachers returned to work this morning in Tongatapu, according to Viliami Takau, the Director of Education.
He said that government schools in 'Eua were back to normal but Vava'u and Ha'apai should be back to normal tomorrow because some of them were just returning from Nuku'alofa this morning.
Viliami did not think that all government primary and high schools in Tongatapu went back to normal classes today, but he said that the Ministry gave the striking teachers the opportunity today to settle back into their schools and "to sort out any differences with either their fellow teachers or students."
At the Nuku'alofa Primary School this morning all the classrooms were opened, and teachers and their excited pupils were busy cleaning up the school, which had been neglected for nearly seven weeks.
