Policeman charged with reckless driving [1]

A police officer from Nukunuku has been charged with reckless driving after allegedly hitting an eight-year-old boy with his police vehicle on Monday, 23 March.
Police in Nuku’alofa said today the victim from Tatakamotonga who sustained head injuries remains hospitalised.
The incident allegedly occurred around 10:20am when the 33-year-old policeman was heading east on Taufa’ahau Road in Vaini. The boy is reported to have crossed the road in front of Beulah College of the Seventh Day Adventist when he was struck by a vehicle
“Investigation continues as no one is above the law,” the Tonga Police stated.
