A colourful float parade led by Princess Latufuipeka Tuku’aho today brightened up the capital as part of a Pea Community Week program.
As Patron of ‘Tavahikena Youth’ of Pea, the Princess led the float parade from the Royal residence, The Villa, into central Nuku’alofa.
The community program began last week on Saturday, 10 January with King Tupou VI, the estate holder, and Queen Nanasipau’u visiting historical sites at the village.
The program was opened on Sunday by the king during a Prayer Service at the Pea Free Wesleyan Church.
This week the Princess led various activites for youth, which stressed the importance of maintaining Tonga’s history and culture, including the need to maintain important historical sites.
The Pea program ends on Sunday, 18 January.
