Two nobles in court this month [1]

Two re-elected Nobles' Representatives to the Tonga Legislative Assembly are due at the Nuku’alofa Supreme Court this month. One noble is up for sentencing while the other for sentencing submissions on separate firearms and ammunition charges.
Lord Tu’ilakepa, a Vava’u Noble's Representative will be sentenced on six counts by Mr Justice Cato, on 23 January.
The Director of Public Prosecutions ‘Aminiasi Kefu said today the noble had pleaded guilty to four counts of possession of firearm without a license and two for possession of ammunition without a license on December 9, 2014.
At the same time, Lord Tu’iha’ateiho a Ha’apai Noble's Representative will appear first for sentencing submissions by counsel on 19 January.
He is charged with one count of possession of a firearm without a license on a separate case.
His sentencing will be confirmed after the submissions before the same judge.
Lord Tu’ilakepa is a former Speaker of Parliament while Lord Tu’iha’ateiho is a former Deputy Speaker.
