2909 students sit secondary entrance exams [1]

Over 2900 Class Six students from 122 primary schools throughout Tonga completed this year’s Tonga Secondary School Entrance Examination today, Wednesday October 8.
The two-day examination started yesterday, October 7 when students sat four papers of English, Mathematics, Tongan studies and Science.
The Ministry of Education recorded a total of 2909 students sat the exam, including 1904 in Tongatapu, 442 in Vava’u, 172 in Ha’apai, 199 in ‘Eua and 33 from Niuafo’ou and Niuatoputapu. Mission or church schools had 159 class six students sitting the exam. The results will be announced in early December before the holiday break.
Last year 2829 students sat the exam, and in 2012 there were 2837, throughout Tonga.
