New president for Tonga Chamber of Commerce [1]

John Paul Chapman (33) was elected as the new President of the Tonga Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. for 2014-15 at the Annual General Meeting on September 29.
John Paul is a Commerce graduate and CPA qualified accountant with a family background in private enterprise in Tonga. He has worked in South East Asia, Australia and the Pacific Islands, and has business interests in Tonga. John Paul is married with three children.
He replaces Aloma Johannson, who becomes Vice President.
The new executive also includes Secretary, Viliami Takau; Assistant secretary, Muimui Qetaki; Treasurer, Kesomi Siale; Assistant Treasurer, Liz Sullivan; Council members Paula Taumoepeau, Suliana Afu, Valerie Vakasiuola, and Sam Vea.
John Paul said that the Tonga Chamber of Commerce would be calling for expressions of interest to fill four affiliate member positions in the coming weeks.
“We would like to acknowledge the contribution of our past treasurer, Hehea Tukuafu Vaioleti, who will be leaving to pursue further studies and our legal advisor, Dana Stephenson who has resigned at the AGM after providing three years of pro bono legal advice to the Tonga Chamber of Commerce,” said John Paul.
