Impressive show of fine mats by Ha'ateiho Village [1]

An impressive and beautiful display of Tonga's finest mats and tapa cloths lined the main highway through Ha'ateiho villages this afternoon as they welcomed the king and public traveling to the Tongatapu Agricultural Show 2014 at Atele.
Jubilant women were on the road dancing to blasted music, while the fences of homes were adorned with fine mats, tapa cloths and decorations. The entire length of the fence at Tonga College was decked out in an array of large tapa cloths.
Women took to the middle of the road and laid out fine mats to welcome the motorcade carrying King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau'u as it made its way along the main highway throught the villages to the Funga-Mana-Mo'ui show grounds at 'Atele.
It looked as though very resident - men and women, boys and girls, young and old, were were out for a good time, including a donkey festooned with balloons at Pea.
The two-day show which ends on Saturday, August 23 wraps up the 2014 Agricultural Shows for Tonga's islands.
