Woman charged for allegedly stabbing sisters [1]

A 33-year-old woman has been charged with stabbing two sisters in the early morning of Saturday, May 10 in central Nuku’alofa.
Police stated today that Taliangi Leveni from Kolofo’ou was charged on Friday, June 6 with bodily harm in relation to stabbing sisters Sesilia (37) and ‘Ofa Tauelangi (18) from Pea.
The incident is alleged to have taken place around 1:30am on May 10 when the victims, who were walking on the road, were attacked by the accused with a knife in front of the 'Ulutea kava drinking club on 'Unga Road.
Sesilia complained she was stabbed on the nose, while the other was allegedly stabbed on her upper left shoulder. The women were treated at Vaiola Hospital, stated the police.
It is understood that the accused and victims knew each other before the incident.
Taliangi was scheduled to appear at the Nuku'alofa Magistrate's Court on Monday, June 9.
