Hundreds of Tongatapu secondary and tertiary school students with lively brass bands marched through central Nuku'alofa this morning, June 5 to mark the opening of the Legislative Assembly of Tonga 2014 Session.
It was a beautiful sunny morning that brought out hundreds of people to watch the colourful marching display with drumbeats that echoed through the streets of the capital.
HM King Tupou VI opened parliament and delivered his speech at Parliament House before departing in his motorcade for the Royal Palace.
This is the final parliamentary session before Tonga's 2014 General Election scheduled for November 27.
