Tonga has acquired a septic tank truck and two rear-package trucks for solid and water waste collections for Tongatapu.
The vehicles, together valued at around T$800,000, will be put to work for the Nuku’alofa Urban Development Sector Project.
“This landfill extension is critical for the Waste Authority, ensuring that we can continue operations without compromising the environment” said Mr Tupouniua, Acting CEO of the Waste Authority Ltd.
“We have two trucks currently running - and with the two new ones, this will ease the pressure on the lives of the existing trucks.”
The Nuku’alofa Urban Development Sector Project will improve living conditions for Nuku’alofa with a focus on effective, efficient and sustainable urban services.
