Vacancy – Team Administrator (Development and Scholarships)
The New Zealand High Commission in Nuku’alofa is looking for a Team Administrator (Development and Scholarships). The primary purpose of this role is to manage New Zealand’s scholarships programme for Tongans to study in New Zealand, in the Pacific region, and in Tonga. The role also provides administrative support for New Zealand’s aid programme for Tonga and the New Zealand High Commission Fund.
A good tertiary qualification is essential and applicants must have at least three year’s relevant work experience. The applicant must have a high standard of written and oral skills, and strong project management skills. The applicant must be able to demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including Government officials, community representatives, prospective scholarship students, and scholarship holders. The salary range is TOP18,284 to TOP24,738, depending on experience.
The applicant we are looking for will be able to effectively prioritise and organise their workload around competing priorities. They will be able to quickly pick up new processes and systems. The applicant will be able to work independently without requiring close supervision and will demonstrate sound judgement. They will also have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively in a team. Strong Tongan and English language skills are required for this role.
