February hottest month in Nuku’alofa

Nuku'alofa has been sweltering under the hottest temperatures for the year this week, during the sun's overpass of Tonga's latitudes. Monday, February 10 is so far the hottest day for the year in Nuku'alofa reaching a maximum temperature of 33 celcius, but not as hot as the record 33.4 celcius on exactly the same day in 2009.

The airport is not actually the same as Nuku'alofa. Over the last few weeks we have measured the max temperature regularly between 33-34C in Popua. While our equipment is not to the standard of that at the airport, we have checked for consistency between our max/min thermometer and several other ones that use a variety of methods for measuring the temperature.
Wonder if any one else is measuring around town?
