New Zealand welcomes Tongan Prime Minister

DURING a three-city tour of New Zealand from May 13-19, Tonga’s Prime Minister Hon. Dr Feleti Sevele and his party were officially welcomed by the New Zealand Prime Minister Hon. John Key in the capital, Wellington.

During the week long visit Dr Sevele had meetings with the New Zealand Governor General, and the Prime MInister Hon. John Key, and several government ministers including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Immigration, the Minister of Pacific Island Affairs, the Minister for Economic Development, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Canterbury, and Cardinal Thomas Williams.

They also visited Christchurch and Napier where they met many Tongans living in New Zealand, and looked at the working scheme with Mr Apple Ltd.
